Art Davie came up with the idea for a little something called the UFC. As an American Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt I can tell everyone without a doubt my life would be completely different without Art's creation and hard work. It was an honor and a pleasure to sit down with a true legend and founder of mixed martial arts. His book "Is This Legal" is available on Amazon and anywhere else books are sold so get it. After you listen to this episode you'll be begging for an audiobook version ( just like I was ! ). Enjoy the show and check out Is This Legal? The Book !

About Art Davie :
Art Davie is a business executive and entrepreneur formerly active in Southern California advertising circles.[1] In 1993, he created and co-produced the tournament which became the televised Ultimate Fighting Championship.[2][3][4] In 1998, Davie, as vice-president of K-1 USA, brought the successful K-1kickboxing franchise from Japan to Las Vegas and North American pay-per-view television.[5] In 2003, Davie was an executive producer with Mandalay Sports Entertainment. In 2006, he became vice-president of television at Paradigm Entertainment Group.[6] In 2014, Ascend Books published Davie's book, Is This Legal?: The Inside Story of the First UFC from the Man Who Created It.[7] Sean Wheelock assisted in the book's research and writing. In November 2014, Davie was inducted into the Legends of MMA Hall of Fame, alongside Big John McCarthy, Pat Miletich, Fedor Emelianenko, and Rickson Gracie.

This weekend was BUSY ! Friday I was backstage at the Bellator 165 weigh-ins and interviewed Royce Gracie. Saturday I attended a Royce Seminar at Serao Jiu Jitsu Academy in Mountain View, CA. Saturday night was the Bellator 165 fight event at the SAP Center and Sunday was a seminar with Grand Master Francisco Mansor. He is a true pioneer and legend in Jiu Jitsu. This entire weekend has been amazing. I have learned so much. Sunday night I spent about 3 hours recording content and another few hours editing. I hope that everyone has a safe and happy thanksgiving break and to everyone else around the world -- I hope that you and your families are all healthy, happy and safe. Thanks for checking out my show. Please consider sharing and subscribing as it helps me out tremendously!  Much love as always - Clint

On October 23 2016 I competed in my first jiu jitsu tournament as a black belt. I came home with some hardware. In this episode I talk about the experience, lessons learned and what it feels like to win my first match as a black belt. I earned my black belt only 3 months ago ( July 2016 ) so this was a pretty huge day for me. I'm joined by my teammate / morning class student Yago ( camera man #2 ).
